Team Coordinator - Head Swim
Coach
After a successful short course season, Coach Brown begins
his fourth year as Team Coordinator / Head Swim Coach. In his first
year with the team he assisted with the senior program and led
the TAG 2 group to many successes. Brown grew up here in
Chicagoland having swam for Homewood Flossmoor HS, and the Joliet
Jets YMCA Swim Team. Glenn then took his talents to
Drury University and earned All-American honors in both
breaststroke events his sophomore year. Glenn’s last
coaching position was with the Naperville YMCA Swim team, as Head
Age Group coach. While with NAPY, he coached numerous athletes to
sectional, state and even national championships. Swimming is in
Glenn’s blood as his father was a coach when Glenn was
younger and his brother is Head Coach of the YMCA National champion
Sarasota Shark YMCA swim team in Florida.
Glenn has led our Senior program to many new accomplishments
during the past two years. These include; Bringing more
swimmers each year to the NCSA Nationals, scoring points for the
first time at NCSA Nationals, JR. National qualifiers
and placing in the top 15 the last two years at the Speedo
Sectional meet. In addition to these accomplishments, the
team has grown by 25% over the last 18 months, thanks in large part
to the consistency of the entire coaching
staff.
Glenn lives in Schaumburg and when vacationing,
you’ll find him in Sarasota, FL (Siesta Key) to visit
with his brother, sister-in-law and three crazy, adorable, loving
nieces. One way to pick Glenn out of a crowd is to look for
his trademark, Florida Gator hat. In his spare time Glenn
golfs, bike rides and cheering for his beloved White Sox and
Gators!
